An homage to Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings boy’s club trilogy, and dedicated to all the bruised stunties on the film.
“It’s Raining Men”, sung by The Weather Girls. Clips from The Lord of the Rings. I always liked the image of the elves reforging Anduril, and threw that in for fun.
I think this was inspired by a local commercial for Lord of the Rings, using the same music. The rest of the ideas come from years of indoctrination by Mad Magazine and Dave Barry. Since I don’t know of any song called “A Lot of Men Falling Down”, the Weather Girls’ song would suffice.
You can read any subtext you want into this video…or not. If you’ve no idea to what I’m referring, then just enjoy the video as it stands!

Brief Summary:
Jean Grey uses Cerebro one day and contacts the alien mind of Sauron. Even though she breaks away he’s still in contact with her mind and begins corrupting her. Sauron is bent on conquering our planet and commands Jean to build an army for him. Others can tell something is wrong such as the Professor and Scott, and each try to confront her only to meet with failure. Other beings from Sauron’s world realize that he’s given Jean Grey the power of the Phoenix and has greatly enhanced her powers. They send a guardian in human form to try to reach Jean Grey and restore balance. All along Wolverine still believes that Jean is still there, when he sees Gandalf/Magneto try to attack Jean he stops him and neutralizes him. When the full force of the Phoenix is released however even Wolverine must see that bringing Jean back is hopeless.

Longer Full Length Story-
One day despite not being telepathically disciplined enough, Jean Grey decides to use Cerebro. Unprepared for the experience something happens which Jean Grey did not intend. The alien entity Sauron finds her mind instantly and despite seperating herself from Cerebro he is still attached to her. He begins corrupting her mind. Scott tries to reassure her nothing bad will happen to her, but he can still tell something is wrong.
One day he follows her as she leaves the mansion, and he confronts her. What’s left of Jean Grey tries reaching out to him telepathically to tell him something is wrong and begging him to kill her. He tells her that the Professor can help fix whatever is wrong, but the Phoenix force takes over her and Scott realizing this is not Jean anymore attacks her. She withstands the attack and in turn kills him and then passes out.
Wolverine and Storm find her and bring her back to the mansion. While looking into her mind Xavier sees that she killed Scott and also sees Sauron and that Jean Grey is still inside struggling with the Phoenix. He allows her to awaken and tells her he can help her. Things escalate and she kills Professor Xavier again. Wolverine and Storm come in time to see him die and begin to greive when a bright white light floods the room and a figure emerges.
Others from Sauron’s world have sent a guardian to help try to reach Jean Grey and eliminate Sauron’s hold on our world. Meanwhile the Phoenix goes and gathers an army as Sauron instructed.
As they march on some place to attack it, they are stopped by Gandalf/Magneto and the X-men. Wolverine still believes that Jean is inside and does not want her harmed, so when Gandalf/Magneto begins to attack her, Wolverine neutralizes him. At that point the Phoenix unleashes its full fury and Wolverine sees that it’s hopeless. Unless he stops her the entire world is in peril. Upon approaching her what small shred of Jean’s mind still exists is able to reach out to him and regain control begging him to save her. Knowing what this means he tells her he loves her and then kills her, destroying the link she has to Sauron and giving her peace at last.

A LotR music video I made. Music by Ana Johnson "We Are" 
Previously unbroadcast clips from a 1968 interview with JRR Tolkien in which he outlines some of the mythology from Lord of the Rings.
Transcription:
Everybody, including divine spirits under god, makes mistakes in this mythology, and of course the gods made a primary error. Instead of leaving elves and men to find out their way under the guidance of god, they invited the elves because the rebel amongst them, the wicked god Melkor, was alive and devastated a large part of the world.
They took them back into their paradise in the west to protect them, and so the whole machinery starts from the rebellion of the elves, and therefore, in rebellion of the evil they did in their bursting out from paradise.
So what you’ve got in our period is two lots of elves: The ones that never started, just didn’t want to, never bothered to be anything higher than they were, were the ordinary woodland elves of the far-east.
Those who started to go to divine paradise and never got there, which are the grey elves of the west, and those who got and came back as exiled.
The higher elves, who sing this song to Elbereth in the beginning of the Lord of the Rings, are exiled elves who had once known what it was to see the ?emerging? gods in person.
Now dwarves create a difficulty, don’t they, in this particular thing. They have certain grievances against men and against elves. They are incarnate in bodies. While they are like ourselves, we don’t know much about them, but they apparently are mortal, they are ?longeval?. Where do they come into the scheme? Well of course, a great deal of sort to provide their origin.
I don’t think I’ll say anything about it at the moment, but they have a rational origin related to their theme, but they are not part of the children of god. That’s all I can really say about this.
Men are just men.
